Composer/Arranger Dennis Dreith On My Latest Inner Circle Podcast

Along the way Dennis wrote the scores for cartoons for Hanna Barbara, television movies of the week like Columbo, and motion pictures like A League of Their Own. He also became the go-to orchestrator for some of the biggest film composers in the business such as John Williams, Lalo Schifrin, Hans Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith and many more.
Dennis was active on the business side of the business as well, serving as the International President of the Recording Musicians’ Association for 15 years, and slo was a consultant and member of the American Federation of Musicians Negotiating Committee.
We spoke about a wide range of subjects ranging from breaking into the business, to composing and orchestrating, to testifying before Congress, and much more.
On the intro I’ll talk about film studios and networks now asking for a kickback of downstream royalties from composers, and software control of 500 series rack modules.
