Music Connection magazine has been a bible for musicians, songwriters, artists, engineers, producers and music execs since its first issue in 1977.

The magazine has grown from a local Los Angels publication to national distribution, and now features everything from revues of artist’s and band’s live performances and albums to extensive directories ranging from music attorneys to recording studios to publicists and much more.

My guests this week are co-founder and publisher of the magazine Eric Bettelli and longtime senior editor Mark Nardone, who will give you an inside look at both the history of Music Connection, and what it takes to publish a music magazine and keep it relevant over time.

On the intro I’ll look at how the record labels are spending their Spotify windfalls, and the beginning of looping (the originator may be a surprise).
