New Music Gear Monday: Klevgrand Altitude Vocal Performance Station Plugin
If you’ve ever wished you could replace your pitch corrector, harmony generator, doubler, and vocal modulation tools with a single plugin, Klevgrand may have just answered that wish. The Swedish developer known for creative, well-crafted audio tools has released Altitude, a real-time vocal performance station built for singers, producers, and live performers alike. It’s a rare plugin that tries to be a complete vocal production environment rather than just a pitch corrector with a few extras bolted on.

Pitch Correction Done Right
At the core of Altitude is a formant-aware pitch correction engine that Klevgrand says was developed alongside researchers at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
That means corrections stay natural-sounding even when you push the settings hard. You can dial in subtle, transparent tuning or go full hard-tune depending on what the track calls for.
A zero-latency mode even makes it practical for live use, which is a detail that matters a lot if you have ever tried to perform through a pitch corrector and felt like the vocal was disconnected from your body.
Three-Voice Harmonies
The Harmonies section of the plugin gives you three independent voices that follow the lead vocal within a selected key.
Each voice has its own vibrato module with fade-in, rate, and depth controls, plus a humanizer to keep things from sounding robotic.
A smart scale system lets you disable individual notes for each harmony voice separately, so chord changes stay musical rather than jarring.
You can also control the scale via MIDI, which is a huge advantage in live situations where songs move through different keys.
The Play Module
The Play module lets you perform vocal lines from a MIDI keyboard or sequence them directly in your DAW.
You can control attack, release, width, doubling, and formant behavior as part of the arrangement, which opens up the possibility of writing melodic parts using your voice as the actual instrument.
Modulation and More
Altitude also includes three independent modulators, each capable of controlling up to eight parameters simultaneously.
LFO shapes include sine, saw, square, and a 16-step custom sequencer that can run free or lock to DAW tempo.
Pitch, formants, harmony intervals, panning, and level are all valid modulation targets, which gives you a surprisingly deep toolkit for building movement into a vocal track.
The plugin also includes two doubler modes, a stereo widener, formant shifting, micro-tuning support, and multi-output routing.
Altitude is currently available at an introductory price of $89.99 (regularly $149.99) with a rent-to-own option at $9.99 per month for 15 months. It runs on Mac and Windows in AU, VST, VST3, and AAX formats. Find out more at the Klevgrand website or watch the video below.
