Sunset Sound in Hollywood is one of the oldest and most iconic recording studios anywhere. There have been so many hits recorded there that at its 25th anniversary party they played for 4 hours straight without repeating one. Van Halen, the Stones, the Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin, the Doors and hundreds of other music giants have graced its studios. It’s one of the studio cathedrals, but until now you had to be there to get that sound. IK Multimedia allows you to bring a little bit of this famous studio to your recordings with its new Sunset Sound Reverb plugin.

The Sunset Sound Reverb plugin is more than reverb. It models not only all 3 of the studio’s famous chambers (one for each studio), but the 3 live rooms and iso booths as well. That means you have 9 different ambiences to choose from. On top of that, the studio’s two excellent plates are modeled as well as even a spring reverb that’s still in use today. Each of the chambers provide a different sound as they are all different sizes.

It doesn’t stop there though. The Sunset Sound Reverb plugin has a variety of parameters that allow you to shape its sounds to your needs and taste. The standard Input, Predelay, and Decay controls are there, as well as a full tone-shaping suite that includes high and low pass filters, and low and high shelving EQs (set at 200Hz and 5kHz respectively).

There’s also a Width control, and a Mic control that controls which simulated mics are active (left, right, or both). Add to that Dry, Wet, and Solo controls and you can see how powerful, yet easy to use, this plugin can be.

The Sunset Sound Reverb is available for an introductory price of $149, which is $100 off its intended retail price. It’s not available just yet, but it’s coming soon. It can be used as a stand-alone plugin or part of the tRackS 5 shell, and supports up to 32 bit/192kHz operation.
