New Music Gear Monday: Acon Digital Remix Track Separation Plugin

Have you ever had what you thought was the perfect mix, only to think after living with it, “I wish the vocals were just a little louder,” or “I wish the drums were a little less prominent”? Of course you have! While that’s usually not a problem with something that we just mixed since all it takes is a little tweak in the DAW, it’s a lot different with a song that was mixed even a few years ago, as so much might have changed with your workstation, plugins or outboard gear that you’ll never get the exact same mix back. The good news is that, thanks to the wonders of Ai, you can easily strike a new balance in real time with Acon Digital’s new Remix plugin.

Acon Digital Remix

While there are lot of very good stem separation platforms and apps available, none are a plug that can do the separation in real time like Remix. All you have to do is load the stereo mix onto your DAW, insert Remix, and fix that balance problem quickly and easily.

Stems

Remix separates a stereo mix into five stems: vocals, piano, bass, drums, and other. Other is a catch-all stem for instruments that don’t fit into the other categories. There’s a level control, solo, mute and Sensitivity control for each stem. Sensitivity controls the amount of leakage on a particular track.

What’s even better is that Remix also has 5 separate outputs that can be routed to 5 tracks of your DAW. This allows you to add additional processing like EQ or compression, or effects in the case of a track that was originally too dry.

Acon Digital’s Remix is just $49.90, and is available for both Mac and PC and in all plugin formats. You can find out more details or purchase the plugin here, or watch the video below.
