The Beatles “She Said, She Said” Isolated Drums And Bass

We haven’t done any isolated tracks in a while mostly because we had covered everything that was available. There are some new ones though, starting with this gem from The Beatles. It’s the isolated drums and bass for “She Said, She Said” off the Revolver album.

There’s a ton of compression on this track, and you can hear the compressor pumping and breathing here, although you don’t hear it in the final mix. The over-compression (probably from a Fairchild 660) might be to help the track avoid some of the hiss that comes along with 4 track to 4 track bounces.

When you listen to the isolated drums like this it just goes to show how under-appreciated Mr. Starkey really is. Solid time and a style all his own, Ringo was such a big part of the Beatles sound and not given enough credit for it.
