Scoring Mixer Bobby Fernandez On My Latest Inner Circle Podcast
My guest this week is scoring mixer Bobby Fernandez, who’s recorded and mixed the scores on hundreds of major film studio movies. Just to give you an example, Bobby has over 300 IMDB credits, but that doesn’t include over 200 films that he wasn’t credited for when working for Warner Brothers!
Bobby’s also won a Grammy album of the year, and has been nominated for a variety of other awards including Primetime Emmy Outstanding Sound Mixing award, BAFTA Best Sound in Film award, Cinema Audio Society Outstanding Achievement for Sound Mixing, and several Best Sound Mixing awards by the Online Film & Television Association.
Bobby has some excellent stories about his breaking into the business, his early days on the Warner Brothers lot, and working with Clint Eastwood.
We also got geeky about the mics he uses for recording an orchestra, and a special ah-ha moment that he had when mixing surround.
On the intro I’ll look at a great selling vinyl release that actually isn’t selling much, and the latest Pro Tools name change.
